An ordinary visa is issued to foreigners entering the Democratic Republic of Congo for tourism, sightseeing, to visit family and friends, and for business-related purposes. For the application process, it is required to first obtain a letter of invitation from the host company or individual. This letter of invitation must be endorsed by the DRC Migration Authority prior to submission to a Congolese embassy or consulate abroad. An ordinary visa can be issued with single or multiple entries with a validity of up to 180 days. However, the maximum duration of stay for each stay is 30 days.

A letter of invitation stamped by a public notary, the head of the municipality of residence of the inviting person/entity, a service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the DRC Migration Authority
Proof of intent to depart the country
Proof of sufficient funds for the duration of stay
